CRS Pre-enlistment Tips by Mary Macapagal

Preenlistment at pag-ibig (the Seven Capital Tips)

Tip # 1: No tiyaga, no nilaga.

Wag kang petiks.

No amount of begging and ritual sacrifice will give you a good schedule kung sa 2nd round ka lang mag-p-preenlist.

Tip # 2: The more entries you send the more chances of winning.

But wait, there’s more: may strategy kahit sa pagpili ng not-so-perfect classes. Pano? Basahin yung ibang tips!

Tip # 3: Wag ipagsiksikan ang sarili…

Bakit di mo nililigawan si Angelina Jolie? Kasi restricted na siya kay Brad Pitt.

In the same manner, wag mo nang ipreenlist ang subject na restricted sa (ie) EEE kung hindi ka naman EEE student. Mission: Impossible eh.

Learn to take a hint. Kapag “Barred: (your course here)”, NO ENTRY talaga.

Kulit you.

Tip # 4: Wag kang choosy.

Safety net.

Wag kang choosy. Mabuti na may class kesa sa wala, diba?

Tip # 5: Daig ng sakim ang masipag. (When in doubt, hoard GEs and PEs)

Eh wala pa akong major eh?! Pano ko pipiliin yung GEs at PEs ko?!  - frustrated, whiny student

Or three. Or twenty-timer.

  • Same subject (ie meron kang Kas 1 TTh 8:30-10, at Kas 1 WF 2:30-4)
  • Same schedule (ie Kas 1 TTh 8:30-10, PE 2 Bird-watching TTh 9-10)

Wala pang time-turner sa UP eh.

Tip # 7: Extra tip (how to know which classes are in conflict or in danger of cancelling others)

Try mo itapat yung mouse cursor sa isang class sa list of desired (see attached screenshot).

When mouse hovers over a row in the desired classes list, other classes that are in conflict with it are also highlighted. — hay nako, di ko maattach yung screenshot. Boo facebook. 20th choice lang kita! (try:http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=185436458200142&set=o.134746139953068&type=1&theater)

Keep this in mind when ranking your classes. Pramis. Use the not-so-common-common-sense when choosing subjects.

Conclusion:

Maximize the 20 classes, check for restrictions, make a back-up plan for not-so-perfect schedules and use the rankings feature strategically.

Kung di mo pa rin gets yung preenlistment matapos basahin lahat ‘to. Hopeless ka na. Malamang loveless ka rin.
