Congratulations to UP ALCHEMES for successfully holding Research Fair 2012, the biggest high school science research fair in the country!

RF 2012 with the theme “Flashpoint: Igniting the Nation’s Next Wave of Innovations” received immense participation with more than 420 participants coming from 38 participating high schools from all over the country. It was a two-day event composed of the exhibit presentations, closed-door defense, workshops for both students and advisers, and the final presentation of the Top 5 teams. It also featured performances from the UP Streetdance Club, UP Concert Chorus, UP Repertory Company, and UP ALCHEMES’ own creative groups.

Out of 127 research entries from all over the country, these five research projects emerged to the top:

As of today, 15 schools have already confirmed participating in our org’s Chemical Engineering Students Summit! I’m so excited to meet my fellow undergrads from all over the country. I hope Aldren, Erick, Paul and some other ChE people I got to meet here on Tumblr can come.

I’ve been very busy with this and I’m glad that good things just keep coming. :”>

I’M ALL GIDDY EXCITED ABOUT EVERYTHING. I’m even excited to take my exams because for the first time this semester, I’m starting to get a good grip of the lessons.

I hope I won’t jinx the event by posting this. Hihi. I can’t wait! 

One more thing, finally settled the feud. :) 

We went to UST yesterday to invite our fellow chemical engineering students to attend ChE Student Summit PH 2012 (our org’s annual event) and it’s overwhelming how accommodating they are. The department chair even let us invite in her lab class, and almost everyone, if not all, registered and agreed to attend the event! 

I’m getting more and more excited knowing I’ll get to meet a lot of my coursemates from different schools and provinces this February. Hihi. 

BTW, UST’s lab facilities are awesome! Haha. They beat ours anytime. I know it’s embarrassing but it’s only my second time in UST. First time was when I took USTET. At least I got in wearing slippers. Hehe why am I telling you that. =))
